The Great Divide

I love the way Mark Vandeneijnde shows the integration of Head and Heart. I will quote a couple of statements made by the author:
One to listen and one to talk.
One to think and one to feel.
One to sense and one to see.
One to Do and one to feel.
This saying reminds me of the Zen Koan: What is the sound of one hand clapping? My response to this Zen question is that we need both hands to make the meaningful sound. They are together. By togetherness of sound and silence, a melody of oneness is created. The greeting Namaste comes to my mind as I am reflecting on this writing. By joining my two hands you and I are becoming one, a Divine Union or Unitive Cosmic Consciousness. Like any new significant learning, realizing the Divine Oneness requires time, patience, and perseverance. With non-judgemental awareness I have been able to integrate both head and heart. Practicing Mindfulness Meditation has been very helpful to me to integrate both aspects of the divide. By holding my hands and touching my heart, I am saying Namaste to all!

I read the full poem and I like it although I was a bit confused at the beginning if they were talking about left versus right brain which actually the research has shown for at least 10 years that that's a myth. They were saying left and talking about logic which on the left the picture was the heart maybe they just kind of flip-flapped what they said versus the picture so anyways. And it's funny how we always say our heart when really our heart is just an organ and everything's happening up in our brain anyways but that still being the case the rest of the poem I agree with the idea of maybe not a perfect balance but that we need both. Sometimes we feel too much and we can't really think out a solution other times we think just logically and we don't ask ourselves but will this be meaningful and make me happy. Really we need to have both. When I get very stressed out it is all emotion and I can't think and that's when I need to take a step away take some time calm down breathe of course maybe work on something totally different and then get back to whatever that problem is and I'm able to think and figure out what the solution is. In fact that just happened to me a few weeks ago and when I calmed down I was like wait a second that math doesn't add up and they were trying to pull something over on me sorry not going to happen. And I literally just got off the phone my brother discussing deck colors and it was funny because I was thinking logically matching the building and he's like it doesn't matter it's what you like it's what you feel and I'm like what? Usually where the opposite but I still think it matters a little bit it should be in between, got to like it enough that you want to go out there but I think it still should match somewhat I mean you don't want it looking totally Goofy. Especially since I like Pluto bad joke sorry.

Dr Dave’

Hello.. Namaate❤️😎🎶

Divine union is the phrase that resonated deeply in my mind/heart from your response to this article. Your mindfulness teaching has taught me the ability to pause, observe with my heart and mind working together, life within me outside of me showing me there is no separation between inside and outside. This is divine union.

Divine union within my mind of words, concepts, and ideas that merge with emotion that grow me into a better version of myself. In that space, I create art, loving relationships, Dance, visions of things that at one time looked disconnected, but our images of the other.

Human potential is a phrase I came across today that was the title of the first course I ever took when returning to college in 1973. I see human potential And Devine union partnering for full and transformative living.

Thank you for this re-awakening,
Namaste
Elaine
