The Future Is Unknowable

This passage on not knowing the future makes me think about how I live my life. There is certainty about uncertainty. This is a paradoxical truth. There are a few certain things I know and I feel sure of such things. However, a large portion of my living is in the uncertainty zone of my life. A great challenge that I face in my life is how to live with uncertainty. Living with uncertainty drains my energy and I get exhausted. Growing up in the twilight zone, the zone of light and darkness has taught me how to walk on the Middle Path without resistance.
Accept what I can and do not employ my energy in combating what I can't and know the difference, and have the courage to change. This serenity prayer helps me walk on the right path, the path of living a balanced life. Nothing in the world we live in remains the same. Seasons change. Life changes. Body changes. Mind changes. Heart changes. Fortune changes. Change is constant. Awareness of such changes and accepting them gracefully has been very helpful to me in the journey of my life.

Dr. Dave, thank you for this wonderful topic and reflection. Change is one of the most powerful forces on the planet. Change is fascinatingly connected with the abstract concept of time, and the physical world, which is amazing and uncomfortable, as I find it eerie how things change, regardless if they are noticed or not. Change is one of the few constants, and I am learning more and more everyday how to embrace change and redirect my energy toward focusing on what we can control, and how faith can guide us through the most uncomfortable parts in the process. Speaking for myself, I am a work in progress, and I thank you and our Satsunga group for the help and guidance on this journey.

Hello Dr Dave’..
thank you for your beautiful reflection response.. Living in the present is the key along with continuing to create in the present and grow from each creation. Perhaps it is art and journaling ideas, including love, compassion, courage, alignment, gratitude, patience.

Ideas and working with them in the present becomes the next idea for the next present moment

I have been placing my attention on these ideas in order to continue with love as the basis for all of my relationships. Every relationship must take into consideration where that other individual or individuals are with their lives as well. This is tricky, but important.

This helps me experience joy in each breath and every step I take on this beautiful earth. I increase this moment with an idea to practice singing for my choir or create art that I will bring to the next workshop I teach or make some healthy food in this moment that will bring health to me in the next.
