Mindfulness

Inhabiting The Body

Who am I ? Am I fully present with my body, with my breath, with my emotion? With my thought? With my being? All these parts of myself are inter- connected. This is an experience of unitive consciousness. In that state I feel one with myself, with nature, and with human beings. In such a state of consciousness, all man- made differences fade away and I feel oneness.
When I do Yoga and Meditation I feel oneness with myself and with others. We are capable of having such experiences. Practicing nonjudgemental mindfulness helps me create and sustain the flow of unitive consciousness. It helps me to be connected with myself and with others in my life. It is a blessing.

Namaste!

I think the unitive consciousness of my body with my mind occurs when I am relaxed and I almost don't notice any particular part of my body, it just is all one. When I noticed a particular part, it is usually when I'm in pain in that part. Now as Judith Blackstone mentions in her post because all the parts are connected and are mind body and spirit are connected emotions can tighten our muscles which causes pain which then changes our emotions or the other direction as we get pain maybe do a physical injury it affects our emotions which then affects more pain. If I am in pain due to a physical injury I will try to change my emotion by usually watching something funny then I don't feel the pain because my emotions are more happy. Been working on the other end if it's my emotions that's tightening say my back, I try first to be preventative by stretching and meditating. usually when that lapses I start to tighten and my emotions start to get a little more stress effects. Sleeping enough and eating when I should and healthy food also makes the difference for both of these. Of course some days I'm better at this than others.

I shared the following a few weeks ago. This is Carol wrote to 12 women in recovery as she was too. She couldn't speak anymore and texted her comments. Brave woman, she didn't have to write to us. She did because she was part of our circle for several months. When we read it, everyone was silent. I usually don't give prayers at a recovery zoom group. God poked me by saying, "Therese say a few words in my name." I asked Carol and the 12 women if I could say a prayer? Carol and all nodded, “yes.” I started with, “Loving Creator, hold your Beloved Daughter Carol in the palm of your hands. We ask Brother Sun, Sister Moon, Brother Fire, Sister Water and all the elements of the world to surround our sister in recovery Carol in our Circle of Love. Awesome Spirit, hold Carol, husband, and adult children in your glowing light of Wisdom and Hope. We asked this in your name Spirit of Faith and Love. Amen.

How to Say I’m Departing… 2024
I'm Carol alcoholic, I have ALS, Can't speak or walk or swallow food without choking my husband has been toileting me for 3 years. I recently learned that I can get medical aid in dying By staying one night in Silver City, New Mexico and drink the blessed deadly potion the next day. I'm scheduled to drive with my husband and kids on August 6th so on August 7th I will die, 3 weeks from today. This is a beautiful way to depart.

Hello Dr Dave👋🎨
Your article post , Inhabiting the Body, is profound as it awakens us to the idea that “ we are many parts of our whole”. Knowing this gives us the opportunity through “nonjudgmental mindfulness”is the key. That in itself feels like a duality or multiplicity of neurological and multidimensional connections being made in order to allow the oneness to occur and be experienced.

The breathwork and observation you have taught allows to BE SOMEWHERE, especially because the mind is always chasing that place to BE.

The BE “simplicity” is complex and yet the variations of pieces are always and have been ONE… our source of life—GOD. Simple??

Wonderful article… thank you.
Namaste
